AirRail railing-style open-view home lift in a bright loft interior

AirRail, the open-view railing elevator

A railing-style system with an open-view design. AirRail takes up less visual space than any other model we build, which makes it the practical answer for narrow stairwells and tight courtyards.

What AirRail is for

AirRail replaces a full enclosure with a railing-style guarded platform. You keep sightlines through the space, the structure stays slim, and the whole assembly needs noticeably less floor area than a boxed cabin, which is why it works in the narrow internal stairwells that most older Karachi houses were built with.

It is also the easiest model to retrofit. With no full shaft to line and no cabin box to thread through the building, installation is quicker and disruption to the rest of the house is smaller.

  • Narrow internal stairwells in existing houses
  • Courtyards and light wells with limited plan area
  • Wheelchair and walker access where an open platform is easier
  • Retrofits where minimum civil work matters most

What comes built into AirRail

An elegant railing-style elevator system with a modern open-view design for residential spaces.

Smallest footprint in the range

The railing system needs less plan area than an enclosed cabin, so it fits voids that will not take a boxed lift.

No full shaft required

Guarded railings replace a lined shaft, which removes a large slice of the civil work from the quotation.

Fast to retrofit

Fewer components to build in means shorter time on site and less disturbance to the household.

Full guarding and interlocks

Landing gates, guarded sides and door interlocks so the platform cannot move unless everything is closed.

Comfortable for wheelchairs

The open platform layout makes wheelchair and walker access straightforward, with no tight cabin corner to negotiate.

Finish to match the stairs

Railing and upright finishes chosen alongside your existing stair balustrade so the two read as one system.

AirRail, frequently asked

The questions homeowners ask us most often about this model.

Is an open-view lift as safe as an enclosed cabin?

Yes, when it is guarded correctly. AirRail uses full-height guarding to the moving sides, interlocked landing gates and an obstruction sensor under the platform. The platform cannot move unless every gate is shut, and it stops if anything is detected beneath it.

Why is AirRail cheaper to install than an enclosed model?

Most of the saving is civil, not mechanical. An enclosed lift needs a lined shaft built, plastered and finished at every level. AirRail's guarding replaces most of that work, so there is less masonry, less finishing and less time on site.

Can it be enclosed later?

Partial enclosure can usually be added afterwards, but it is much cheaper to decide up front because the frame and fixings differ. Tell us at survey if you may want to close it in later and we will specify the frame accordingly.

How much noise does it make?

AirRail is a quiet drive, but an open platform gives you no acoustic enclosure, so you hear more of the mechanism than you would with a closed cabin. In a stairwell it is comparable to a normal household appliance.
